Cygnets
Staff Ratio 1:3
We follow the "Birth to Three Matters" Framework - see what makes us special for further details.
We ensure that the babies are stimulated as much as the older children. This
can involve such things as foot painting or playing under close supervision with sand and water or visits to places of interest.
Individual diaries are maintained throughout the day detailing baby's events so parents/carers know exactly what sort of day their baby has had with us. These diaries are then passed over to parents at the end of the day and returned the next session. This is a very simple but effective way of passing on information between the parents/carers and us, especially if a parent is unable to collect their child from nursery. In addition to the Diaries, the nursery staff maintain Development Record Sheets. A constant review is made of each child and the stages of development recorded. Please ask to see sample records if you do visit us as we would be delighted to show them to you.
Babies are offered the same meals as the other children but these will be either liquidised or chopped, depending on the stage of development. Babies are encouraged at all times to progress to using a feeder cup and small fork & spoon. Nappies are not supplied by the nursery.
Our Cygnet room is air conditioned.
